Have you checked airfare lately? It's bananas to get off the island. So that gave us limited options for Hunny's post-deployment leave. So we opted for a part Big Island trip (as seen below) and a part Bellows beach cabin trip. Bellows is an AF base that's really not much of a base but more of a recreation area. They have an awesome beach, some cabins, a mini-grocery, a minigolf,etc. It's self contained and nice and peaceful.
Now what's so awesome about Bellows are the waves. They are just enough to be great for boogy boarding and the kids loved it! Normally Little Man isn't so keen on the ocean but he got used to it and had a blast!
So for about 4 days we grilled out and went to the beach. Repeat...and it was awesome. Just what Hunny needed!! It was nice and quiet out there and we had a blast!

That looks like so much fun! We still haven't camped out there yet... I'm turned off by the whole "no campfires" thing! But I'm sure we'll get out there eventually because we LOVE camping :)
Ya know, you could go space-a to Japan for cheap...wink wink! Glad you had lots of familiy time together; you've all earned it!
